Tenute di Pecille are owned by Giovanna Manetti, descendant of an old Chianti family of entrepreneurs, owner of the Azienda Agricola Fontodi, one of the most prestigious wine estates in Chianti Classico, recipient of numerous and continuous awards at an international level. In the early 1990s Giovanna Manetti, together with her family, decided to restore 2 of the old farm buildings on the wine estate and convert them into self-catering apartments for holidays.
The traditional business of the Manetti family is the production of quality Florentine terracotta tiles (they furnished the roof tiles for the dome of the Cathedral of Florence), an activity to which they have been dedicated for over three hundred years.
